After high school, Garcia attended Texas Christain University for a few years, and then transferred to the University of Texas. When she arrived at Texas Christain University, she was introduced to a competitive atmosphere that allowed her to develop her golfing skills. Even though she experienced joy and fulfilment as a golfer Angela Akin Garcia never dreamt of becoming a professional golfer, so she decided to pursue journalism. When she graduated, she was hired as an Fox Sports Southwest reporter.
